About the Founder
After facing firsthand the struggle with eating disorders and understanding how mental health is at the heart of this battle, Tiffany Padilla decided to create the Alive Chapter Foundation as a space for support and visibility in the Dominican Republic.
His personal experience was captured in his book "A Girl Alone in New York," written from a place of vulnerability and hope. This literary project is not only a testament to her life, but also the foundation's primary source of funding: the book's profits will support educational programs, support groups, and psychological therapy for those in need.
Tiffany firmly believes that every difficult chapter in life can become a starting point. Thus, what began as a personal diary amidst loneliness and struggle has now transformed into a collective project that seeks to give voice, educate, and reach out to those who believe they are alone on this journey.
My story
I am Tiffany Padilla, a Dominican-Cuban author with a heart full of dreams and a deep passion for words. From a very young age, I found writing to be my refuge, my outlet, and, over time, my purpose.
In 2018, I began writing my first book, A Girl Alone in New York , a month after moving to New York City, in the midst of a period of personal reconstruction. It's not just a story; it's my intimate testimony of what it meant to start over, heal past wounds, learn to love myself from within, and, above all, confront and overcome my eating disorder. That's why, today I not only want to share it with the world, but also make it a source of help.
I grew up in a home of Christian faith and values, and although I faced difficult times, each one shaped me and motivated me to seek a new life. My greatest strength has always been my faith in God, my mother's unconditional love, and the firm belief that no pain is in vain if it can inspire or help someone else.
"Your story doesn't end here."
